I've always wanted to volunteer at our local Animal Shelter. You could do it at a Nursing home & knock out points 1 & 4 at once?? :)Dancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08445867726231270634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8372428877443138492.post-50414012290134435632011-02-09T22:23:03.791-05:002011-02-09T22:23:03.791-05:00Thank you for the reminder to do this myself...bec...Thank you for the reminder to do this myself...because it's such a warm fuzzy to stop and think of all the things we have to be thankful for! Working in a nursing home certainly makes it harder some days, and easier others. I think the only bad thing is that at a certain age, people really do lose the "socially acceptable" filter in their brain, and I've had some really nasty comments from residents. That stings, even though you know not to take it personally.Annihttp://lincolnparkonalark.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8372428877443138492.post-39426371101453102072011-02-08T12:59:28.212-05:002011-02-08T12:59:28.212-05:00I love old people. We have some of the most amazing elderly neighbors....they baffled us for a good year with their kind/eccentric behavior before we finally realized that they are exactly who we want to be. They are constantly teaching us something new.Laylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14421540686236873204noreply@blogger.com
