Pretty basic. It's the wall above our sink in the kitchen. Beige. It's actually a cool color cause sometimes it looks tan, and sometimes it looks grey and also I didn't want to move the fridge so I didn't paint. 46 inches wide with a light in the middle. It's a convenient light when I remember to turn it on and I didn't want to take it down for one huge piece of artwork cause like I said, it's convenient and our landlord probably would not love the idea (though as long as we don't burn the place down, he seems okay with pretty much whatever). Also, it's a pretty dark room even with a large window on the side wall so removing a light source could result in loss of fingers while chopping. We have high ceilings, which I LOVE, but also makes a lot of our art look tiny. So I needed something substantial, colorful, and able to work around a large light in the middle.

...with a whole lot of frames (twelve 11x14 inch) and a tape measure (of which we have um, 6-8) and you get... my very first time hanging more than one picture:
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, actually. It makes a statement (I love dead things?), it adds some color without being in your face, and it gives us something interesting to look at while doing the dishes.
Most importantly, though, it started making our "house" feel more like home. We're 800 highway miles away from either set of parents, 2 hours away from anyone we actually know, and 6 hours away from one of my best friends who moved to Fort Drum, New York. Getting this wall done meant that we're starting to put down roots in a new place and gives me hope that eventually I'll feel good about calling New Haven home, instead of just the place that we live while A goes to school.

I'm glad you posted this since YOU NEVER SENT ME PICS OF ALL THE HANGING YOU DID!!! This long distance relationship sucks, I'd rather come over and see it.
