It's SNOWED, you guys! Started flaking Friday morning, started coming down heavier after noon and was still going strong even when AC got home at 5:30! It's about 5-6 inches on top of the cars and varies on the ground. Before we went out this yesterday and AC was still asleep, I was so anxious to get out and take pictures! I grew up in Atlanta and when I was young, all the snow melted before noon. There was a mad rush to get out the door and play in it before it was all gone. Our snow in New Haven is systematically unlikely to melt before noon, but I still had that anxious feeling that I needed to go out RIGHT NOW.
However, AC sleeping in after a long work week and the fact that I forgot to charge my camera battery last night dictated that I hold off. And then by the time we started out, the snow had started to melt- but no worries, because by the time we got back everything was starting to refreeze. So, awesome. We got a few more inches last night AND it's sunny today, but I was awake from 4-6 AM for no reason so...yeah.
* Note: we were still in Atlanta when Snowpocolypse hit the tri-state area, so this is totally counting as my first Northeastern snowfall.

The detail of those buildings looks even more beautiful with the snow. Great pics!
Yay snow! It's one of the few things that make these long Northeast winters bearable. :)
I agree with Layla, those buildings look so very gorgeous.
So so pretty. I want snow today, too bad everyone SOUTH of me is getting hit! Argh
Beautiful pictures! I love the snow :)
It snowed here too! It's so lovely!
That architecture is just gorgeous! It looks even prettier under a blanket of snow. :)
I'm personally holding out that it doesn't snow again. We got our first few big snows, and the corresponding slush. I walk the mile to campus (unless I'm feeling lazy) and I hate trudging through the gross slush!
Yay! Welcome to the NorthEast love. It rarely melts right away - it usually stays around for a couple days, then turns an ugly depressing grey then makes everything just cold & soggy & gross. We call that March. LOL :)
