Dinosaurs for adults.

So confession: anything having to do with fire engines, cars, or especially dinosaurs, I am totally into. Fast and the Furious is my FAVORITE movie series, I have more pictures of fire engines than I can count and dinosaurs are just awesome. Yes, I am totally a 4 year old boy. I've had a fascination with dinosaurs for a long time, and while I couldn't necessarily give you a whole lot of information about them because “learning” stuff is just not something I'm good at, I did take a class called Dinosaurs and Disasters in college taught by a guy that looked eerily like Bill Clinton. As a side note, that was the class that I took as pass/fail thinking it would count as the science requirement needed to graduate, except for it to count I shouldn't have taken it pass/fail so my school tried to tell me that I didn't graduate. Um, no. Loved that class, though. I still have my notes from it, somewhere. We live very, very close to Yale's Peabody museum- where they have dinosaur bones and pictures and even a whole skeleton! There's a huge bronze dinosaur out front, which is awesome cause I drive down this street a lot and it always brings a smile to my face.

If you look closely at my (our) apartment, you can see some subtle homage to the dinosaur. This is slightly embarrassing, especially since in researching for this post I may or may not have ordered one or two things for myself. I just... I like dinosaurs.

So, seeing that I am a totally normal, dinosaur-loving person, I figured other people know people who love dinosaurs too! And people are hard to buy for, so I've put together a grown-up gift guide in case you too have a dinosaur-loving adult in your life! I had a couple of parameters for this, since dinosaur presents are usually pretty kid friendly. It had to be something that I would actually buy and/or use and it had to be on the classy side of fun. It couldn't be cheesy- no big green brontosauruses with purple spots or smiling pterodactyls. And it couldn't be junky. We have a lot of STUFF in our small apartment and we just don't need any more objects cluttering the space and I figured most people are the same way. There's one exception to this, and it's only because I think it's the coolest thing in the whole world that I would never own.
