Our Save the dates. Yes, I made them all myself. Yes, it took a long time.
Our invites wrapped in lace. Sorry they look wonky but I had to edit out names for privacy sake:
My handkerchief that was actually my bonnet from my christening gown. Apparently this is a tradition? Weird, but it was nice:
Last minute dress! There's a belt that goes around the middle but I put it on after I put the dress on:
My mom cut out every single piece of lace for these votives. Cause she wanted them! I asked her several times to just cut straight across or to not do it at all, but she cut all the intricate parts out anyway:
You can't see it, but the top of the luminaries are lacy thanks to a very long car trip and a big Martha Stewart punch that matched the lace around my invitations:
All personal photos except those with a watermark, which are from our amazing photographers.
So the thing about the lace wrapped around my invitations almost didn't happen. I LOVED the look, but good, high quality lace is expensive and the invitations in and of themselves were almost $1000 (yikes). We found some pretty lace at Joanne's, but it was white and the invitations were cream and just wouldn't dye. Thankfully, A's mom knew a place- a secret place. And oh what a place it was. This was the most amazing (and disorganized) store in the world, but Alma has BEAUTIFUL lace. Just gorgeous. At ridiculously low prices. So we bought something like 10 yards, and I got my lace wrapped invitations.
iPhone photos while Mom, A's mom, and Alma were in a different room.
After the wedding I went back and bought more lace...
I fully intend on going back at Thanksgiving when we visit Alan's parents to get more, because it's gorgeous! But I have NO idea what to do with this lace that I have now. It's beautiful but I'm not really a "decorate with lace" kind of girl. I could keep it... forever, but I'd really like to use it for something. Have any ideas?

you're kidding, right? MAKE BEAUTIFUL PILLOWS. It will go with your decor so chic-ly!
That's exactly what I was thinking - pillows. Or trim around existing pillows, or in a pattern over them - or add to shirts. Geez, now I want some lace.
hey girl!! I'm so glad you found me (this is CorgiTales). I can't wait to see more about your wedding!! The teaser pics on the 'bee were amazing :)

HI!!! I love lace too and so happy that I had a lace dress. I just believe it was meant for me! LOL! Thats why it was the one! Ok im going to stop talking! Glad you found me from WEddingbee!! :)
I was never really into lace but when I got married for some reason I really wanted it. Unfort. when I tried on lace dresses I felt like my grandmother's tablecloth. I do have some old pieces of lace that my grandmother used made herself. I was going to use some of it to wrap around my bouquet but in the end I didn't.
