First of all, I had vintage brooches in my bouquet, which has led me to looking for them at flea markets. So I know where those came from. But I don't know how I amassed the vintage jewelry collection I brought back with me from Atlanta, some of which I'm showing you here. I think most of it is from the grandmothers cleaning out their jewelry boxes? Some of it might be from my favorite junk store in Atlanta. Some of it is from my Mom. I totally forgot about it, left it in the bathroom of my parents house and found it again while I was cleaning out my stuff over Christmas. The fact that I have all this other jewelry that I don't wear is sad. I brought everything back with me to New Haven except some pieces that I had to throw away (broken beyond repair) and am trying to figure out what to do with it. Most of the pieces are in need of serious repair: gemstones need to be replaced, it needs to be replated or I need to reinforce clasps and/or jump rings to avoid losing it. Considering I wear the same two pieces of jewelry every day (wedding ring and necklace) with occasionally wearing a watch, I need to either wear it or get rid of it. But while I figure out what to do with it, I'll give you just a small example of what I've got going on...
I LOVE this bracelet. It says Maroc on the back, so I assume it's from Morocco. I love how intricate it is:
Love, love this brooch:
Child's bracelet (it's really, really small):
Necklace:
Cufflinks. They're my Mom's (sorry Mom):
This bracelet is probably too fragile to wear, but I love it:
This was supposed to go on Alan's boutonniere for our wedding, but I couldn't find it in time (because it was in Atlanta in a big messy drawer):
Like I said, it's in serious need of repair, but I think it's doable! I love the pieces I've shown you, and a couple that I didn't want to dig out.
Do you have a random collection that you've accidently assembled? Do you love vintage jewelry? Any suggestion on where I should get these fixed?

I think vintage jewelry is a great collection, and you should definitely keep it! My favorite is the gold and blue brooch. And a random observation/question - the K brooch looks really, really similar to the K in the Kiwanis emblem, any connection there?
I love your collection.. definitely keep it and try to wear it! Some of the pieces are so incredibly unique; I especially adore your mom's cufflinks.
At least vintage jewelry is a good collection to have - you can always use more jewelry! Some of those are just great.
I'm the worst with books. I can never seem to throw them out, so I even have multiple editions, random paperbacks, and about 149075894357 cookbooks and text books. We have books on our bookshelf, in our china cabinet, on the shelves in our closet, and stacked in our bedroom!
Wow, those are some really great pieces! I love vintage jewelry, but I can't be trusted not to loose jewelry, so I don't have much jewelry that isn't from Target.
You know, I think it would be really cool to mount some of the more delicate/unwearable pieces in a shadow box, then you could have them on display on a wall, instead of just in a drawer!
* and by "loose" I meant "lose"!
